The Next Stage is an improvisation-based acting school, incorporating training techniques essential for both improvisationally created and “traditional” scripted theater based in San Francisco. Directed by artistic director Marcia Kimmell a professional actress, director, teacher and private coach with 41 years of experience in theater of all styles and genres as well as film and video. It's a safe place to play and grow for beginners and professionals

ACTING - Monologues & Scene Study Integrating Stanislavski's "System of Psycho-physical Actions" with improvisations from the Theater Games of Viola Spolin. For actors and directors who want to incorporate improvisation, along with in-depth analysis of character & script.
Learn to make multi-leveled, specific choices, then spontaneously discover them, improvisationally. Culminates in a final performance of the monologues & scenes.
